Brock Clarke

BROCK CLARKE's books include the novels Who Are You, Calvin Bledsoe?, The Happiest People in the World, and An Arsonist's Guide to Writers' Homes in New England; the short story collection The Price of the Haircut; and, most recently, the essay collection, I, Grape; or The Case for Fiction. His tenth book—the short story collection Special Election—will be published in 2025. He lives in Portland, Maine, and is the A. LeRoy Greason Professor of English and Creative Writing at Bowdoin College.

Kathleen Alcott

KATHLEEN ALCOTT is the author of three novels and one short story collection. Her short fiction and essays have appeared in Harper's Magazine, The Best American Short Stories, the New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, Elle, Tin House, and The Baffler. She has been nominated for the Joyce Carol Oates Prize and the Sunday Times Short Story Award, and in 2023 received an O. Henry Prize. A fellow of MacDowell, Alcott has taught at Columbia University and Bennington College.
